• 4.0 out of 5 stars from Alex Reads -- Excellent! No romanization which is great! : I know there are those who wish there was romanization available for this series. This is intermediate, it shouldn't be necessary. Even for beginners, the first step should really be to learn the alphabet. The Korean alphabet is so easy to learn (as opposed to other east Asian languages). For serious learners, romanization should not be necessary. A challenge but doable! I enjoyed the story and found the highlighted vocabulary to be useful. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Great Next Step For Beginners Korean Language Learners : I'm still a beginner and wouldn't consider myself at the intermediate level with the Korean language but I feel like I can understand the value of this book. After understanding concepts, memorizing words, and grasping basic fundamentals, the next step in learning the language would be applying it to real life situations. This book is constructed well in providing short stories that is cohesive and easy enough to understand. I really like that a vocabulary list is in the next section for when you need to look up word translations. I did have trouble finding the page, going through the list, and finding particular words in the vocabulary section. In my opinion, having the translations in the margins or as a footnote would have been a good compromise of being close to the words but still out of the way from stories themselves. It includes 12 different stories, each with a list of vocabulary and some comprehension questions. Each story also has a short summary at the end which is very useful if you're not quite at the level to read the entire story- I often just read the summary and learn the vocabulary before reading the story itself.
